About Greek Mythology
Mythological creatures have obsessed people for centuries. They are often non-human creatures, animals or hybrid beings that are found in fairy tales, myths, and legends. The Greek myths are also full of terrible monsters that constantly threaten people. These fantastical creatures are remarkable because of their size, strength or even ugliness! Many of these terrifying monsters are hybrid beings with human bodies and animal heads or vice versa – with animal bodies and human heads, such as the Sphinx. The most famous example of this is probably the Minotaur, a monster with the head of a bull and the body of a man who lived in the Cretan Labyrinth and devoured humans whole. Only the real heroes like Hercules and Perseus possessed the strength and skill to defeat such monsters. Many fantasy stories draw their motifs from these ancient Greek myths even to this day. Similar mythological beings can be found today in literature, movies, music, art, board games, computer games, and role-playing games!
