How can I use this resource?

With this resource, you can make your own paper snowflakes using our cutting templates. It's a fun and educational activity that will improve your kids' motor skills and teach them about the science of snowflakes. You can use your snowflakes to decorate your home or classroom with a winter wonderland theme! Paper folding is a fun way to explore math and symmetry. You can make beautiful shapes with angles of 60° and 120°, just like the ones you find in snow crystals. Snow crystals are amazing because they all have the same basic shape, but no two are exactly alike. They get their different shapes as they travel through the clouds. The clouds have different temperatures, humidity, and air movements, so the snow crystals grow in different ways. It can take them up to half an hour to reach the ground.

Fun facts about snowflakes

You can use these templates to make your own paper snowflakes. They are based on the photographs of W.A. Bentley (1865 - 1931), who was the first person to take pictures of snow crystals. He was fascinated by snow and ice since he was a child. He got a microscope from his mother for his birthday and saw how beautiful and diverse snow crystals were. He tried to draw them, but they melted too fast. He decided to try photographing them instead, and he asked his father for a camera. His father thought it was just a waste of money and time, but he gave him one anyway. Bentley used his camera and microscope to take photos of about 5,000 different snowflakes. He also got sick many times from being out in the cold.

We don't have to worry about that: We just need to fold... and snip snap cut... W O W !
