To get started, all you need is to download and print our Newspaper Snowflakes templates. Print out the template in your chosen size and cut it out. Fold some newspaper that’s a similar size in half.

Place the left side of the template flush with the bottom edge as shown in the picture. Mark the tip with a pencil.

Fold the right edge of the newspaper to the left up to the line on the template. Score the edge well with your fingernail.

Unfold the paper. Shift the template to the right with the tip at the center and flush with the bottom edge again.

Fold the left edge of the newspaper to the right up to the line on the template. Score the edge well with your fingernail.

Remove the template and fold the left and right sides of the newspaper towards the center. Score the edges.

Fold the template along the center line and slot the newspaper all the way into the template. If necessary, staple within the gray area.

First, cut off the upper part of the newspaper. Then cut out the entire gray area. Only the snowflake shape is left.

Remove the template. Carefully unfold the newspaper snowflake and smooth it out. If necessary, iron the snowflake flat.

You can also color the finished newspaper snowflakes using water colors.
