Crafting your gold star:
Crafting your gold star involves folding an 8x10 sheet of gold foil in half and cutting along the folded line. Fold the resulting halves lengthwise to measure 8 x 3 inches. Repeat this folding process, reducing dimensions to 8 x 1 inch. Use a ballpoint pen to transfer the pattern onto the gold foil, pressing firmly. Cut along the indented lines, exercise caution around the markings in the middle. Apply glue, align and glue both pieces, ensuring slits in the middle align. Thread a sturdy string through the slits and knot it securely. Fold and press firmly together. Gently pull the folds apart, apply glue to one end, securing the gold star into a circular form. Fold the two halves lengthwise in the middle and smooth them out. Both folded strips should now measure 8 x 3 in.
Fold the strips twice again lengthwise to make them 8 x 1 in.
Unfold both pieces, fold them again into leporellos using the fold lines you created and then smooth them out.
Choose a star shape. Cut out the corresponding pattern and the picture of your chosen star.
Fold the pattern strip along the dotted line and slide one of the gold foil leporellos into the fold.
Use a ballpoint pen to trace the pattern. Press down hard. This will transfer it to the gold foil.
Indent the pattern onto the second gold foil leporello in the same way.
Cut out the patterns along the indented lines. Carefully cut along the markings in the middle. Apply a thin layer of glue to the surface of one the pieces.
Glue both pieces on top of each other. The slits in the middle should be exactly on top of each other.
Pull some sturdy string (e.g. twine) through the slits and knot it tightly.
Apply a thin layer of glue on one half of the top, and glue both strings to the foil all the way to the end.
Apply more glue to the top, fold it down the middle and press firmly together.
Pull the folds apart, apply a thin layer of glue to one end and glue the gold star together so that it forms a circle.
By gluing them together, you‘ll have 4 flat pieces, which you can glue to the back of the star.
Your gold star is finished!
