What does this resource contain?

12 templates for fall leaf sun catchers, each in two sizes to be cut out, stuck together, and hung up. This download includes the following leaf motifs: Sycamore, Birch, Beech, Oak, Maple, Hazelnut, Chestnut, Basket Willow, Linden, Norwegian Maple, Walnut and Aspen.

How to do it?

  1. Print out the desired templates for sun catchers on heavy printing paper.
  2. Fold the sheet of card in half along the middle line.
  3. Cut out the motif along the outlines through both layers of card.
  4. Fold both motifs in half along the dotted center lines.
  5. Cut out the center parts along the inner contour lines.
  6. Unfold both motifs.
  7. Stick torn or cut tissue paper onto the printed side of one frame until the inner area is covered.
  8. Stick the second frame onto the first with the edges aligned and the printed sides on the inside.
  9. Cut off the tissue paper that’s sticking out from the outer edges and hang the sun catcher in the window.

To get started, all you need is to download and print our Sun Catcher - Fall leaves templates.

Print out the desired templates for large sun catchers, each twice on heavy printing paper. The deep black lines are easy to see on the black paper. You can also use different colored paper.

Fold both sheets of card in half along the middle lines.

Cut out the motifs along the outlines through both layers of card.

Cut out the center parts along the inner contour lines.      

Unfold both motifs. 

Stick torn or cut tissue paper onto the printed side of one frame until the inner area is covered.

Stick the second frame onto the first with the edges aligned. 

Cut off the tissue paper that’s sticking out from the outer edges and hang the sun catcher in the window.
